the crown / headstands

A workshop with a different perspective - 4th May 2026

Class Description

For the yogi who sees things from a different perspective. Often referred to as the king of asana, headstand offers more than the thrill of going upside down. It builds concentration, body awareness and the kind of confidence that comes from learning something step by step. Join us this Easter Monday for The Crown - a headstand workshop designed to help you build confidence, strength and trust in going upside down. We’ll begin by preparing the body with a focused warm up that wakes up the shoulders, core and upper body, creating the support and stability needed for inversion work. From there we will break headstand down in a way that makes it feel far less mysterious and far more achievable. Headstand is often seen as one of those postures that belongs to the fearless, the advanced or the naturally bendy, but this workshop is designed to strip it all back and give you a clear, logical route into the pose so you can approach it with more skill and less guesswork. As we work through the foundations, we’ll explore alignment, set up, weight distribution and the common habits that can make headstand feel harder than it needs to. You’ll learn how to create strength and steadiness from the ground up, how to use the body intelligently and how to build trust in yourself as you move towards balancing upside down. Headstand can be empowering, playful and deeply focusing. It asks us to stay calm under pressure, work with fear and find stability in unfamiliar territory. Whether you are completely new to inversions or you’ve been trying to crack headstand for a while, this workshop will help you feel more informed, more supported and more confident in your practice. This is a space to learn, experiment and have fun with the process. Expect intelligent preparation, clear teaching, plenty of support and that brilliant feeling of doing something that once felt out of reach. To make sure everyone gets the attention they need throughout the session, numbers will be limited.
